how do you turn night vision on with a sony handy-cam?
ok so i have been on a few ghost hunting trips with a Friend but i have to use the light and we think it might make ghosts harder to see how you get night vision?

Shooting video at night (in the dark) requires infrared lightning. If your camera doesn’t have the option, (but assuming your camera has good low light recording capabilities) just grab any TV remote control and press the volume button, pointing where you film, as you film with your video camera….like a flashlight……..it works!

It depends on the Sony camcorder.
It must have "NightShot" mode. Not all Sony camcorders have NightShot mode. Since you did not provide the model number of your camcorder we have no way to verify that your camcorder even has the capability.
Some of those with the feature means going in to the camcorder’s menu and activating the NightShot feature.
Some of those with the feature means locating the NightShot switch on the outside of the camcorder… like my HDR-HC1… and moving the switch to the NightShot position.
