Buy Night Vision Goggles

I just bought a weapon mounted flashlight with an infrared filter for my airsoft gun and would like to take advantage of this filter without investing in a pair of 500 dollar infrared goggles. Are there any cheaper methods (i.e. homemade/improvised devices, filters etc.) that could allow me to detect the infrared light.

p.s. I know this is a long shot but I thought it was worth a try
