You can see to drive, however OTHER drivers can’t see you and you WILL cause an accident, probably a bad one.

Driving with your lights off is stupid, ILLEGAL, and very dangerous. Your lights do more than just light the road and other objects that might be in it, they also let other drivers see where you are.

To answer your question, but DO LISTEN TO THE VALID WARNINGS ABOVE!! This is DANGEROUS NOT ONLY TO YOU BUT OTHERS.
Generation III night vision can do this with light cancellation. The military uses Infrared night vision that can see in total darkness well enough to fly and airplane..got the picture?
The answer is yes, but DO NOT DO THIS!!

Apart from the other good points already posted, depth-perception isn’t all that good with NV goggles either.
It really wouldn’t be a good idea.

The night vision goggles basically amplify the low level of light from the moon and stars. If there are street lights and oncoming headlights, they will be amplified to the point that you will be blinded by them. Using them on a residential street or highway could be very dangerous. Stunts in movies quite often stretch the truth about what is possible to accomplish in real life.
