Found this-
Product Rating:
Pros: Compact, easy to use, decent performance, tripod mount.
Cons: Infrared beam works at longer range, but is narrow and can’t be focused.
The Bottom Line: If your needs are recreational, this is a good choice. If you need higher performance for security, water navigation, or astronomy, go for a 2nd or 3rd gen scope.

You might see a few bats or the clouds – but these are going to be next to useless for any astronomy.
These are developed to gather *ambient* light for viewing terrestrial objects (things on the earth) in very low-light conditions. It will definitely help you see things that move about in the woods or out on your lawn – but not things out of the earth’s atmosphere. You will see the stars, and they may appear to be brighter – but only the brightest of the stars will improve in brightness – the night vision scope will increase the contrast – dimming out the very dim stars.
For astronomy viewing, a regular pair of binoculars will suit you better.

I’ve never used one of these myself, and I’ve never heard of anyone using one for astronomy. I’m not sure what you’d expect to see moving anyway…nothing in the sky moves fast enough to be seen to move. A 10×50 binocular would be _much_ more useful for astronomy, and less expensive, too.

i never heard of anyone using one for astronomy, but if it’s already bought and paid for, it might be interesting to look at satellites or the ISS with it. if you decide to try it, let us know how it worked.
