Bush always says "we have to fight them over there…..(the terrorists) so we don't have to fight them here?

....but the following story from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17390852/ shows that if they DID come here, thanks to Bush expending endlessly resources on Iraq war (i.e., 40% of troops are guard troops there, in order not to have had a draft or Americans never would have bought this war) and that policy--fighting them "there" does make us more vulnerable "here"---because the GUARD are our soldiers meant to PROTECT THE HOMELAND!!! Do you agree with this observation or not? (After reading the story-here's part of it that'll fit--be sure to read the rest, it's astounding..):

"From Virginia and the District of Columbia to Indiana and New Mexico, National Guard units lack thousands of trucks, Humvees, generators, radios, night-vision goggles and other gear that would be critical for responding to a major disaster, terrorist attack or other domestic emergency, according to state Guard officials."
--Ann Scott Tyson, Washington Post, posted on MSNBC at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17390852/
Ummm...duh, "thorngirl" did you even read the article? Does it refer exclusively to terrorist attacks? No---to natural disasters & other domestic emergencies as well...geez, do these people banging the war drum no matter what have something against reading or what? lol

So when exactly was the LAST attack on US soil? NOT one since 9/11 so your myth is busted. Please understand that throughout History all Defenses were destroyed by cheap offensives. Staying home IS the thing NOT to do.

i see what you are saying.
because we are at war ‘over there’ we don’t have the necessary tools to take care of US ‘here’ in case of a natural disaster.

military funding should be more than building weapons and puffing the pockets of politicians.
does KATRINA ring any bells, here?

  3. Garacaius Says:

That’s right, he is correct. History will show that Bush is a person of vision and courage to take the position that he has taken.

THEIR IS A LOT OF POOR COUNTRIES THAT COULD DO WITH A LOT OF HELP!!!! BUT GEORGE IS PLAYING WITH REAL LIFE ACTION MEN & DESTROYING WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE BELEIVED IS TRUTH,JUSTICE & THE AMERICAIN WAY!!!! p.s. were are these weapons of mass destruction as george said they had!!!!! how many years ??? STILL NOTHING!!!!

A really good point, and the article sums up our vulnerability. New Orleans proves this along with the endless illegal immigration problem we are occurring at the present. I think the 500 billion would have been better spent suring up the American boarders here at home. I am sure Bush just couldn’t resist all of the war profiteering he was able to do, and raising the inflation rate for the oil companies to receive record profits. Bush and his Administration have already made their fortunes.
